Connect Cursor to WordPress

Add MoraWP to Cursor as a remote MCP server, approve the websites it can reach, and let Cursor's agent work on WordPress next to your code.

Set up in three steps.

Works in the Cursor editor. First, connect your WordPress website in MoraWP; it takes a minute.

  1. 01

    Add the server

In Cursor's MCP settings, add a remote server named morawp, or merge this into .cursor/mcp.json:

    {"mcpServers":{"morawp":{"url":"https://mcp.morawp.com/mcp"}}}
  2. 02

    Sign in and approve

Authenticate when Cursor asks. Sign in in your browser, pick the workspace and the websites, and approve.

  3. 03

    Ask for real work

In an Agent conversation, check MoraWP is on in the tools, then ask Cursor to list your websites.

What you can ask Cursor.

Plain requests, on any WordPress website you connected, with any plugin it runs.

  • Read the homepage blocks and fix the heading order.
  • Add a custom field for the event date to the events post type.
  • Check why the contact form stopped sending, then tell me what you found.
  • Update the plugins on staging and tell me what changed.

Safe by default.

Cursor works only where you allow it. How MoraWP keeps you in control

  • Only the websites you choose

You pick the workspace and the websites when you approve. Everything else stays out of reach.

  • Big changes ask first

Updates, deleting, and code wait for your yes. See exactly what will run, then approve it once or for 30 minutes.

  • Every action on record

Each request lands in your activity with the agent, the website, and how it went. Remove the agent any time.

Cursor and WordPress, answered.

The full guide is in the MoraWP docs.

No. The server URL is all Cursor needs. You sign in to MoraWP once, and no command, environment variable or token goes in the file.

No. Cursor signs in to MoraWP and you approve the connection in your browser. There is no key to copy and no WordPress password to share.

Cursor can only do what you allow on each website. Big changes, like updating plugins, deleting content, or running code, ask you first: you see exactly what will run and approve it once or for 30 minutes. Every action is in your activity.

Any WordPress plugin. WooCommerce, Elementor, Rank Math, Yoast, Advanced Custom Fields and dozens more have abilities of their own, and every other plugin works through WordPress itself.

Yes. MoraWP is a remote MCP server for WordPress at https://mcp.morawp.com/mcp, with OAuth sign-in. The MoraWP Plugin on your website is what it talks to.
